I’ve always loved working with children. Being able to influence the future is something that I aspire to do. I graduated from the University of a Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. Interdisciplinary means taking two or more areas of study and integrating them to form new ideas. The areas I chose to study were behavioral sciences and communication with a minor in history. I loved that I have found a career where I could apply my passion and my degree. After my course in group dynamics, I did some research to explore if children learn better in a group setting. After my research, I concluded that some children do tend to retain information better while in a group setting. I love working with the young ones in a group/classroom setting and helping them build a learning foundation for the future. Because of my interest in the academic side, I am currently pursuing my teaching certificate.
I was born in Miami but did not spend much time there because my father was in the military. Because of this, I’ve had the opportunity to explore diverse places and experience new cultures. This love for new places and cultures has followed me throughout my years. In my free time, I love to travel and try new foods with my two daughters. I became a vegan in 2014 and I dedicate my time finding delicious healthy alternatives for my family and me.

Hello! My name is Jennifer Carney.
I joined the Puzzle Box/Kaleidoscope team in November 2016 as a Teacher’s Aide. I was very fortunate to be able to take the Registered Behavior Technician course through Puzzle Box in January 2017. I passed the board exam in March 2017 to become a Registered Behavior Technician. I came on board at Kaleidoscope in November 2018. I have enjoyed every second learning and working with this team.
I have been in early education since 1994 as a preschool teacher. I am certified through the Department of Children and Families and the state of Florida. It was an easy transition into special education as I feel it is where my heart is. This experience has helped me in the responsibility of providing art and sensory lessons to the early intervention clients at KI.
I am a mother of 3 beautiful children, 18, 14, and 5. Most of my free time is spent with them. I enjoy reading and karaoke and anything musical. I can play the piano and the guitar.
